colour nuances (noo-äns´) uniquely coloured, machine crafted

treetops has often wished we could offer the subtle beauty of our hand-dyed fibres at a more affordable price.  finally, we are happy to announce a solution!  for over a year now, treetops has been part of an exciting new joint project that has resulted in a range of uniquely dyed wool tops we are calling colour nuances.  through our collaborative efforts with a boutique dye house we have created a uniquely coloured, machine crafted range of wool tops that reflect the subtle shadings found in nature and hand dyed wools.  only the softest superfine (18.5 micron) merino wool tops is chosen for dying with this distinct process.  special care has also been taken to reduce any excessive processing of the wool to insure a superb handle.

to assist with your designing, we have especially created three palettes within the range - neutrals/pastels, earth tones and brights.  of course the subsets can be inter mixed, but each colour within a palette has been thoughtfully chosen to harmonize.  colour nuances were custom designed with the needs of the creative feltmaker and textile artist in mind.   when felting with the colour nuances you will achieve a subtle "suede-like" effect.  some colours will have a greater nuanced effect than others, a wonderful change from the uniformity of standard commercially dyed wool tops!  inquiries welcome for wholesale and quantity discounts.  colour cards $28.00.  see our sampler mix web page for exciting mixes using the colour nuances.

felters will find the colour nuances perfect for using with the silk for clothing.  superfine merino never becomes too firm and will therefore allowing silk to drape beautifully.  if you have never used superfine wools before, it will take subtle adjustments to your felting technique.  please take the time to experiment.

australian retail prices (includes gst): 125gm = $13.75; 250gm = $27.50; 500gm = $55
